Beatriz Albuquerque

Beatriz Albuquerque (born 1983), is an interdisciplinary Portuguese artist. She has degrees from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, the Institute of Chicago and a PhD from Columbia University. She lives and works between Porto and New York.

She was invited by Marina Abramovic to join the Independent Performance Group (IPG) in New York. She has won prizes included the Breakthrough Award for the 17th Biennial Cerveira; Myers Art Prize Award from Columbia University, New York; and the Premio Ambient Performance Series, PAC / edge Performance Festival, Chicago. She has exhibited  in New York, Porto, Chicago, Bogota, Istanbul, Thessaloniki, Sao Paolo and Caracas amongst other places.* 

Beatriz Albuquerque took part in No Man's Land (2005-2006) and Procreation/Postcreation (2003).
