Archive Womanifesto was an exhibition curated by Varsha Nair and Nitaya Ueareeworakul. It was held at Chulanlongkorn University in March 2019 in conjunction with the University of Sydney program Gender in Southeast Asian Art Histories. A version of the exhibition was presented at The Cross Art Projects in October 2019 as part of the Gender in Southeast Asian Art Histories program. The exhibitions made publicly available, for the first time, materials including photographs, videos, artworks, documents, publications and other ephemera related to Womanifesto.
The exhibition presented archival documentation of the collective, from its inaugural exhibition Womanifesto I (1997) up to to Womanifesto Residency (2008). After 2008 the organisers took a decade hiatus. The presentation of Womanifesto's archives in 2019 renewed connections amongst past Womanifesto artists and sparked new connections with the region's scholars and cultural practitioners. This exhibition and connected events seeded collaborations to digitise the archive and develop further projects.
