Maha Alasaker, July 2025
'I’ve done over ten residencies, and most of them start to blur same structures. Womanifesto was nothing like that. It felt like showing up at a friend’s farm, someone who actually wants you there.
The woman who runs it, an artist, mother, community builder all at once holds space with so much care. She shared her home, her time, her food, her stories. She didn’t just “host” me, she connected me. She introduced me to Happy Farm, where I learned natural dyeing and weaving directly from people who live it, not just teach it. She also linked me to artists in Udon Thani.
I didn’t just make work. I made relationships. I learned, I listened, I laughed. It was slow in the best way grounded, thoughtful, full of meaning.
This place reminded me why I make art in the first place. Not for deadlines or exhibition lists, but for connection. For presence. Womanifesto gives you that.'
