On-anong Glinsiri

On-anong Glinsiri currently works in Contemporary art and is a Researcher and Art instructor at the Faculty of Fine Arts Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. She graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Visual Arts) from Silpakorn University in 2018 and presents visual arts and academic works that present life experiences through symbolic narratives that include literature in the form of mixed media art and installation art. She is interested in the identity and cultural formation of marginalized groups in contemporary Thai society such as women, the homeless, the elderly, teenagers, and well-being and Death.

She has researched extensively and has exhibited her work in VisualCulture: Tourist Industry Contemporary Art from Thailand, Art Exhibition and Symposium (Forum Stadtpark, Graz, Austria, 2000); as well as The Art Exhibition of the 1st International Women Artists Exchange&Residency Program (Thailand, 2008). In 2010 she received Silpa Bhirasri Creativity grants and in 2017 was a Researcher in the Project Pre-Thai Cremation Book Arts: Narrative by Active Aging in Rattanakosin Area.

More recently, she organized the exhibition Record Before Death: The Final Chapter; The Last Flock of Senior Pigeons (Sanamluang, 2019) and was a guest curator for the Art Exhibition Circle of Caring: Experience, Sensation, Well-being for Well-being and Death (2023) and the exhibition Blowing up the tale of aging society (Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Bangkok, 2023).

On-anong has taken part in three Womanifesto events, including Womanifesto II (1999), the Womanifesto Residency in 2008, and most recently Womanifesto: Flowing Connections (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Bangkok, 2023) staged concurrently with The Womanifesto Way (4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney, 2023).
