About Womanifesto: Flowing Connections

Preenun Nana, 'Womanifesto: Flowing Connections and Her Ethos in Master Series at BACC 2023', in WOmanifesto: Flowing Connections catalogue

'When we were approached and invited to ‘co-curate’ the exhibition at BACC, we stated right away that we had never really curated a show or an event. Instead, we suggested that as per the Womanifesto Way, we would rather join forces through sharing an open-call protocol with some of the artists who had joined the Womanifesto family since 1997. We just needed to make sure that the works would speak individually and with each other, and thread thoughtfully with the ethos of Womanifesto—the ethos of openness to highlight women’s points of views, feelings and realities, and the value of exchanging ideas. Also, it is the offering of a space that supports; where each one feels supported by others in the group, the importance of passing down knowledge and inspiration amongst generations and the sharing and nurturing through crossed-generational friendship around the globe.'
