About Womanifesto Workshop 2023
Launching the new setting of BAAN WOMANIFESTO (Womanifesto House), Womanifesto Workshop 2023 is the pilot project on a farm in Kumpawapi, Udonthani, Northeast Thailand. The workshop is organised by Nitaya Uareeworakul, co-founder of Womanifesto since 1997 and now residing on the farm. For the ten-day residency/workshop joining Nitaya are three artists coming from different parts of Thailand – Maneerat Thamnarak from Chumporn, Pattree Chimnok from Chiangrai, and Auan Klom Happy farm from Udonthani.
The program is open to new approaches with a focus on exchange between different generations of women practitioners. Planned are visits to communities and other significant local sites of craft and artistic engagement and production, and onsite workshops including natural dying from the environment in the area. Also offered is an Open Day during which the participating artists will conduct workshops with students from other provinces in the region.
BAAN WOMANIFESTO is set up to house the Womanifesto Archive along with a library/research center and an exhibition space. A regular residency program will also be offered.
