Gatherings (2020)

Womanifesto 2020: Gatherings was originally planned to take place as a workshop in November-December 2020 at Baan Womanifesto, Kumphawapi District, Udorn Thani, with a group of international participants. However, the pandemic impacting worldwide meant having to rethink and adapt the original idea of a physical gathering in one place.

Nitaya Ueareeworakul and Varsha Nair invited participants of previous Womanifesto projects to host gatherings in their respective locations instead. They were asked to connect with artists in their vicinity and conduct the program in their individual locations by setting up a meeting point – a tangible space – to convene face to face whilst following safety guidelines.

In Basel: Lena Eriksson, Nicole Boillat, Chris Regn, Chris Hunter, Martina Henzi, Martina Gmür and Jim Osthaarchic.

In Berlin: Karla Sachse, Susanne Dobrovoda, Ann Noël, Gabriela Vasquez-Pacheco, and Lea Mattenklotz.
